Description
It has now been possible to prepare chain of ions in an entangled state and thus question arises how the optical properties of a chain of entangled ions differ from say a chain of independent particles. We investigate fundamental processes like emission and scattering of radiation from entangled systems. We show how entanglement can lead to enhancement of basic scattering and emission processes. We relate enhancement to quantum interference of multiple photon pathways and bring out the possibility of the size dependence of nonlinear optical susceptibilities
