Description
SST-1M is a Davies-Cotton small size telescope designed and developed by a consortium of Polish and Swiss institutions and proposed for the CTA observatory. By using SiPMs, SST-1M is envisioned to have signi cant advantages over Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes that rely on photomultipliers; most notably the ability to carry out observations with high night sky background conditions. In this talk I will describe the apparatus and process for measuring the absolute and relative Photo-detection effciency of the SiPMs, as well as other properties such as the dark count rate and after pulse and crosstalk probabilities. A rapid characterization setup for quick and automated measurements of these properties to be employed for testing and quality assurance duringlarge-scale production was also developed, and will be briely reviewed.
