Description
The ATLAS and CMS collaborations have measured the Higgs boson in various production and decay channels. These measurements still leave room for exotic Higgs boson couplings proposed by various extensions of the Standard Model (SM). In this talk, the results based on a search performed in the context of a two-Higgs doublet model extended with a scalar, using 138 fb−1 proton-proton collision data collected by the CMS experiment in the Run-2 of LHC in the 2μ2b/2τ2b final states, will be presented. In addition, the current status and performance of the Level-1 trigger system of CMS will be discussed. In light of the Run-3 of LHC, new features and strategies are being implemented, which will benefit beyond-the-SM measurements. These are precursors of the Phase-2 upgrade intended for the high-luminosity LHC, meant to handle challenging pileup conditions and performance requirements. A sample of these algorithms will be reviewed in this talk.
