The proposed Laser Und XFEL (LUXE) Experiment at DESY, Hamburg, aims to probe quantum electrodynamics in the strong field nonperturbative regime. This regime will be created by collisions between high-intensity laser pulses and high-energy electron or photon beams from the EuXFEL setup. Brief details on building the LUXE silicon tracker detector will be presented. Moreover, this experiment offers a unique opportunity to probe physics beyond the standard model. Axion-like particles can be probed up to 350 MeV in mass and 3×10−6 GeV−1 in photon coupling power thanks to LUXE’s large photon flux. This reach in parameter space is comparable to the projected reach of future experiments like FASER2 in the HL-LHC and NA62 in the dump mode.
