Description  The field of quantum information embraces computing, cryptography or key
distribution, and teleportation. All involve quantum correlations between
two or more two-level quantum systems termed qubits. A qubit has, in some
respects, much more power in speed and memory than a classical bit, so that
there is excitement over the possibility of using them for varied
applications. I will discuss some of the basic principles of quantum physics
that underlie all this, and how to deal with some of these correlations such
as ``entanglement'' and ``discord''.
