Description
For the high-luminosity phase LHC, the CMS experiment will upgrade its silicon tracker subsystem. As part of the R&D activities, few prototype modules for the upgraded tracker were developed at TIFR. The mechanical precision of these modules were measured, and the results are within the tolerance. The single module electrical test activities as well as the current tracker online operations were carried out at CERN.  The second part of the seminar will be devoted to data analysis in CMS experiment.  Recently, we have started to work on the top quark mass measurements in electron final state of single top events. These studies will be presented in detail.
