Description
Tata Institute of Fundamental Research held an Interaction Meeting between Indian Institutions & Fermilab on Physics with Project-X on January 13-14, 2011, at T.I.F.R, Mumbai, India. One of the main aim of the meeting was to discuss physics potential and prospective areas of collaboration on Project-X physics.

Fermilab has proposed an upgrade of its accelerator complex to support physics programs at High Intensity during the next decade (http://projectx.fnal.gov). The centerpiece of this multipurpose program (Project-X) is a Superconducting Radio Frequency (SRF) linac that would provide continuous wave (CW) proton (H-) beam from 1-3 GeV and also inject high power pulsed beam at 8 GeV into the Main Injector complex to support neutrino physics programs at 60-120 GeV. Indian Institutions and Fermilab are collaborating (http://iifc.fnal.gov) on the research, design, development and construction of Project-X and a similar facility in India. Fermilab is exploring the possibilities of a rich physics program that could be supported with Project-X. The Project-X physics includes Neutrino, Muon and Kaon following the recommendations of the P5 panel. Fermilab is also exploring the possibilities of enhancing the physics reach by including Nuclear Physics and Nuclear Energy to its program.
