Description The structure of the nucleon can be probed in deep inelastic scattering (DIS) experiments and is parameterized by three parton distribution functions (PDFs). The Mellin moments of these PDFs are accessible in Euclidean spacetime as matrix elements of local operators. In the past years some predictions from lattice QCD were in disagreement with well-established numbers extracted from experiment. Recently, with quark masses approaching the physical point, this tension was somewhat released.
I will present results of the Regensburg group on the second moment of the unpolarized isovector PDF (⟨ x ⟩u-d) and I will also explain how contributionsfrom excited states have to be carefully controlled to get correct results. In the second part of my talk I will introduce a novel method to compute connected contributions to baryonic three-pointfunctions using stochastic estimators.
