Optical and Magneto optical investigations were performed towards understanding the fundamental physical and material properties of excitons in stacked ZnTe/ ZnSe submonolayer QDs with type-II band alignment. Particularly interesting is the observation of excitonic Aharonov- Bohm (AB) effect in these systems, which is revealed via magneto-PL emission. Detailed analysis of the AB signature indicate presence of built-in electric field in the system. Spectral analysis of the AB effect was developed into a fine probing tool to distinguish different QD stacks within the ensemble system and also determine the
lateral excitonic size with sub-nanometer precision.
