Cells show complex behaviours like migration and differentiation in response to molecular signals in their environment. I will describe our approaches to orchestrate such cell behaviour using light, the unique value of these methods in probing how intracellular molecular interactions execute cellular activity and applications such as spectrally selective optical triggers to modulate contractility of heart cells with different wavelengths of light. |
