Description
ABSTRACT:

Diverse research areas such as identifying faint stars in astronomy or single molecule microscopy requires imaging under low-light conditions, where interstellar distances and intracellular particle positions, respectively, needs to be resolved. A key objective in these types of parameter estimation studies is to extract the desired quantities with the highest accuracy possible. Estimating the location of individual particles with nearly the same accuracy by an imaging technique is achievable only in the absence of detector noise and pixilation. We will traverse through a few imaging strategies developed where by capturing the low-light signal we are capable to unravel the normal and disease biology today.
