Description
Nature Nanotechnology was launched in October 2006 and in the last few years it established itself as a leading journal in the field. The aim of my talk to is to introduce the journal and Nature Publishing Group more widely and to explain the editorial process that we follow to select the manuscripts that end on the pages of our issues.
The aim of Nature and Nature journals is to place before a general audience the highest impact results in a broad research field. The core of each journal is represented by articles and letters. At Nature Nanotechnology the editorial team includes five editors that take care of all the contents. We read all papers, decide on whether they are of such a high impact to be published in our journal, overview the review process and take decisions. I shall explain the process in some detail and mention some frequently asked questions.
We also publish a range of front half articles, like editorials, News and Views, commentaries and research highlights. I shall explain how we decide on which articles to publish to engage with our community.
