In this talk, I will discuss the interior dynamics of neutral and charged black holes.
Scalar collapses in flat and Reissner-Nordstrom (RN) geometries are simulated.
We examine the dynamics in the vicinities of the central singularity of a
Schwarzschild black hole and of the Cauchy horizon of a RN black hole. Mass inflation near the central singularity is found. Approximate analytic expressions
are partially obtained. Mass inflation happens, because inside black holes the dynamics is highly local, which makes the quasi-local mass definitions break
down. Results in the f(R) gravity case will be briefly discussed.
