Art conservation Case Studies from India

Description
In this illustrated lecture, the speaker will draw upon a few of the
selected heritage conservation projects implemented in India in order to
provide seeds for questions and answers. The projects selected for the
presentation include (a). the establishment of a state of the art
conservation centre in Mumbai and (b). using art conservation as a lever
for social economic development.

About Mr. Anupam Sah:
After acquiring his B.Sc. from the University of Delhi, Mr. Anupam Sah
secured a Masters Degree in Conservation of Works of Art from the National
Museum Institute, New Delhi. He pursued further professional education in
Italy and UK. Mr. Sah is the founder of the not-for-profit Himalayan
Society for Heritage and Art Conservation and Anupam HeritageLab (India)
Pvt. Ltd.

Mr. Sah has rendered heritage conservation, training and consulting
services to the Government of India’s Ministries of Culture, Tourism,
Urban Development, various State Governments, Universities, NGOs, World
Bank, UNDP, UNESCO, and others. He has designed and conducted more than
200 workshops and training courses both in India and abroad. Mr. Sah is a
recipient of the Sanskriti Award for Social and Cultural Achievement. The
President of Italy has recently conferred on him the title of Knight of
the Order of the Star of Italy for excellence in the field of restoration.
