Abstract:
We report preliminary results on a search for the charmless
hadronic decays of neutral B mesons to the final state K+K−0,
using the data collected at the Y(4S) resonance with the Belle de-
tector at the KEKB asymmetric e+e− collider. Decays of B mesons
to the charmless three-body final state containing even number of
kaons are dominantly produced through the b ! d loop (penguin)
transition. There also exist possible contributions from other am-
plitudes such as the b ! u tree diagram and the internal W ex-
change. These transitions are strongly suppressed in the standard
model (SM), and thus offer a useful probe for new physics beyond
the SM. In this talk, we will discuss our analysis strategy, current
results and future plans.
