Description
This presentation focuses on the important role of thin films in the dynamic field of material science, with their applications in computing, energy and aerospace. The transformative influence of advancements in surface/interface science, nanotechnology and defects levels of thin film technology will be discussed. The abstract explores into the detailed investigation of indium sulphide (In2S3) and copper zinc tin sulphide (CZTS) thin films, highlighting their unique properties for potential applications. Superior photo-absorption coefficient, moderate band gap and distinctive crystalline structures of In2S3 will be discussed, highlighting their impact on enhancing photocurrent. Additionally, the presentation will cover the fabrication of a visible light photodetector based on In2S3 and the interaction of In2S3 thin films with atmospheric conditions (vacuum pressure and ammonia sensors). The study also investigates CZTS as a promising quaternary semiconductor for thin film solar cells, detailing the optimization of deposition parameters through various physical vapor deposition techniques. Overall, the presentation aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the structural, optical, electrical and surface properties of In2S3 and CZTS thin films, showcasing their significant contributions to material science and electronic development.
