at TIFR, Mumbai ( D-406 )
Description
This presentation will briefly cover the priorities in U.S. Particle Physics as illustrated in the recently released report by the U.S. Particle Physics Project Prioritization Panel (P5) as well as the process being developed to realize these priorities. One of the highest priority recommendations of P5 is the completion of the High Luminosity (HL) - LHC Upgrades, both on the Accelerator and Detector sides. The presentation will focus on the U.S. contributions to the HL-LHC CMS Experiment’s Detector Upgrade, and, in particular, on our work towards the design and construction of the High Granularity Endcap Calorimeter and the MIP Timing Detector.
