Description Analytical modelling of cosmological large scale structure is of great interest in understanding the origin and evolution of the spatial distribution of galaxies and the intergalactic medium, as well as for the precision cosmology quest of the nature of dark energy and dark matter. The excursion set approach is one of the oldest and most versatile of such techniques.
I will give a pedagogical introduction to the excursion set approach.Depending on time and audience interest, I will discuss the following topics:dark halo abundance and clustering, halo merger histories, halo profiles, peaks theory, extensions to warm dark matter, voids, reionization history, etc.

Note:The lectures start at 10:00 AM and will continue until 5:30 PM with a long break for lunch at 11:30 and short breaks as needed.
