Description
I will begin by explaining the challenges of Yang-Mills theory and how the large N limit and the lattice contribute to address them. Then I will explain the connection of this problem with Matrix models. After a brief account of the history I will describe recent results on the subject. I will end up with a closer look to the 2+1 dimensional case, and how it iluminates some of the open questions related to the formulation of field theory in non-commutative space-times”
