The electromagnetic form factor of the pion is a fundamental strong interaction quantity that probes the structure of the pion. Its precise knowledge is necessary to evaluate the SM contributions to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, which is presently being remeasured to high accuracy. We will discuss our results for this quantity using tools of field theory and show the dramatic reduction in uncertainty in the radius, the contributions to the muon anomaly, and its value in several kinematic regions of interest.
