Theoretical Physics Colloquium

Inverse supernova neutrino problem

by Prof. Amol Dighe (TIFR)

Description
I shall outline our current understanding of the neutrino flavour conversions inside a core collapse supernova, and describe how the neutrino signal arriving at the Earth is affected as a result. The neutrino spectra from a future galactic supernova may help us identify the neutrino mixing scenario, distinguish between primary flux models, and learn more about the supernova explosion.
