Description
Exploring the nature of single-particle electronic states and associated quantum transport in low-dimensional materials constitute one of the frontiers in condensed matter physics. Here we will discuss how the local correlations and quasi-one dimensionality in decorated lattice models drive non-trivial changes in the electronic spectrum and transport properties. In particular, we will show a multi-strand Creutz network, and flux staggered diamond lattices in addition to some toy models arranged following a quasiperiodic sequence. We will also discuss our recent work on generating flat bands and topological phase transitions in a one-dimensional periodic array of lattices with distinct geometries and correlations among system parameters. All these concepts and properties will be illustrated within the tight-binding framework.
