Description |
To explain astronomical observations using Einstein's theory of general relativity, one often needs to postulate a period of rapid expansion in the early universe, known as inflation. However, realization of such a period from any fundamental theory remains a challenge. Here, I will talk about how a fundamentally discrete scalar field can naturally drive a phase of cosmic inflation. |
