Description
Adaptation in asexual populations happens only by means of rare,
beneficial mutations. These mutations occur in the tails of fitness
distributions and hence can belong to only one of the three extreme
value domains. In my talk, I shall discuss an experimentally
measurable quantity that shows a qualitatively different behavior in
each extreme value domain and thus, can be used to distinguish between
them.
