Wednesday Colloquia

Seeking Clean Energy Solutions through Materials Innovation

by Prof. Satishchandra Ogale (IISER, Pune)

Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from to (Asia/Kolkata)
at TIFR, Colaba, Mumbai ( AG - 66 (Lecture Theatre) )
Description
"Our ability to harvest energy efficiently from clean and green sources, and store it effectively in large scale stationary or small scale mobile systems will define our future in terms of sustainability and quality of life. Towards this end, new and novel solutions based on the promise of new materials involving their constitutions, compositions, morphologies and architectures are being sought.

In this talk, I will discuss this scenario by deriving several examples based on the research done in my group in the areas of sensitized cells, hybrid perovskite cells, photoelectrochemical water splitting, CO2 reduction, energy storage devices using metal oxide and sulphide nanomaterials, and different interesting forms of functional carbon."
