Description
The concept of hyperuniformity, configurations with small number fluctuations will be introduced and illustrated with examples. Although such distributions can be characterized mathematically, it is less clear how they might arise in actual physical systems. I will discuss some ways to generate disordered hyperuniform distributions, and try to give some intuition into when they might arise.
