Description
The last two decades have seen a revolution in the field of exoplanets, planets that orbit stars other than the Sun. We now know of thousands of exoplanets, hundreds of them in multiplanet systems. Exoplanets exhibit an incredible diversity in their orbital and structural properties. Such diversity was completely unimaginable from the Solar system planets. I will present our current knowledge of the exoplanets and their properties and focus on our latest results on giant planets, small planets, and compact multiplanet systems. In particular, I will discuss the implications of the observed diversity in the exoplanet properties on their formation and subsequent evolution.
