In this talk, I would like to take a cosmologist’s perspective on the Dark Matter (DM) conundrum and discuss the status of what observations (i.e. Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) and probes of the matter spectrum) tell us about its nature. I will briefly review the great complementarity of our cosmological probes to look for WIMP annihilation and decay signals, and compare them with cosmic and gamma rays constraints. Moreover, cosmological observables are sensitive to scattering between standard model (SM) particles and DM, which opens up the possibility of performing direct detection with cosmological probes. I will discuss the complementarity with direct detection on Earth and explain how DM-SM scattering could be responsible for a very recent exotic signal observed in 21 cm surveys. |
