Pseudo-Nambu Goldstone bosons or axion-like particles (ALPs) are low-energy remnants of many high-energy extensions of the Standard Model. For a large range of ALP masses, flavour experiments provide strong constraints on ALP couplings to Standard Model particles and therefore on the new-physics scale. I will review these bounds and discuss loop-induced ALP contributions from flavour diagonal couplings and their implications. In the case lepton flavour-violating couplings, I will present a new solution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon.
