Exploring Transiting Exoplanets: An Observational Perspective

To date, over 6,000 transiting exoplanets have been identified, varying in size from Earth-like planets to those larger than Jupiter. By utilizing photometric and spectroscopic observations across optical to infrared wavelengths during transits, we can investigate the atmospheres of these distant worlds. The depth of a transit varies with wavelength, and spectroscopic features can reveal the composition and structure of these atmospheres. Through multi-wavelength observations, we can gain valuable insights into the physical properties of these planetary systems. In this talk, I will focus on the observational aspects of transiting exoplanets and highlight the facilities available at ARIES for conducting such study.
