Technologies to Transform India

Some of the key challenges in 'transforming India' are - taking computing and connectivity to 100 million households (computing), 'mobilising' the world around us (mobile), meeting the ever growing energy needs (energy), creating a high-speed train network across the country (transportation), creating a large number of smart and green cities (urbanization) as well as using technology to improve the political landscape of India (politics). The talk will dwell on these technologies and will specifically address on what scientists and engineers can do to meet these challenges. 



 About Rajesh Jain : 

Rajesh Jain is Founder-Chairman and Managing Director of NetCore Solutions, a messaging and mobile data services company. He is also Founder-Chairman of Emergic Venture Capital, which has invested into a dozen companies in India and abroad. Among its investments are Novatium, which has created a $100 network computer, Rajshri Media, which runs India’s largest broadband portal, and mChek, which is into mobile payments. 

One of the Rajesh's early ventures, IndiaWorld Communications, grew to be the largest collection of India-centric websites. IndiaWorld was later acquired by Satyam Infoway in one of the Asia's largest Internet deals. 

Rajesh Jain holds a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, New York.
