Recent experimental realizations of axial anisotropic spin-1/2 chains have intensified the research in one-dimensional spin-1/2 systems. The combination of anisotropy and frustration induced by competition between the nearest and next nearest neighbor exchanges in these systems gives rise to many interesting exotic phases like bond order wave, Neel and chiral vector wave phases in the ground state. In this talk, scaling of the order parameters and the Quantum phase diagram of a model Hamiltonian with axial anisotropic nearest and next nearest neighbor spin exchange interactions are discussed. A new Quantum phase diagram of this model Hamiltonian is constructed using a combination of the exact results of finite system sizes and density matrix renormalization group method. |
