Vector Spin Glasses

Description I will hope to convey the following three messages from my talk:

In mean-field theory, there is a de Almeida-Thouless(AT) line for arbitrary m-component vector spin glasses, provided one applies a magnetic field that is random in all the component-directions [1].

We study the 1-d diluted power-law Heisenberg spin glass in zero magnetic field. We find that spins and chiralities generally tend to order at the same temperature, except perhaps for one value of the power-law decay parameter σ (= 0.85) [2].

We study the 1-d diluted power-law Heisenberg spin glass in a magnetic field. We find that for σ= 0.6 which lies in the mean-field university class, there is an AT line. For σ= 0.75, which is just outside the mean-field class, there is likely an AT line. For σ = 0.85, which lies in the short-range universality class, it is likely that there is no AT line [3].
