ASET Colloquium

Recent developments and applications of photomultiplier tubes (PMTs)

by Dr. Andy Cormack (Director (Sensor Development), ET Enterprises Ltd., UK)

Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from to (Asia/Kolkata)
at Colaba Campus ( AG-66 )
Description
This talk will describe recent technology developments in the area of photomultiplier tubes such as high quantum efficiency photo-cathodes, fast and compact PMTs as well as large area tubes. Deployment of these new generation devices for cosmic shower telescopes (for example CTA), for neutrino telescopes (for example KM3NeT and LBNE) will be highlighted as case studies.

About Dr. Andy Cormack:

Dr. Andy Cormack did his B.Sc. in Chemical Physics and Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from University of Edinburgh. His area of research was Photoelectron spectroscopy of halogens and halogen halides. He joined Electron Tubes as a Photomultiplier Development Engineer in 1997. He is currently responsible for photomultiplier and electronics development at ET Enterprises.
