Description
It is not the quantity but quality that matters. Quality control and quality maintenance are integral to any health care system. The goal of quality control is to detect errors and rectify them so as to obtain accurate results. In this colloquium, we will explain about internal and external quality control, types and areas of possible errors as well as measures to overcome these errors. We will specifically focus on the quality control methods followed in our TIFR's pathology laboratory.

About the Speakers:

Both the speakers did their Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology(DMLT) and are working in the TIFR Pathology Laboratory since 2001 as Technical Officers (C). Mr. Sawant did his B.Sc. (Chemistry) and worked for 6 years in Nanavati Hospital. Ms. Surve did her B.Sc. (Microbiology) and worked for 5 years in Lilavati Hospital.
