Description |
How does a thermodynamic description emerge for a closed, deterministic system with time reversal invariance? In what sense does such a description emerge, if at all? In this talk, we will discuss many examples where `thermalization' happens and some examples where it does not. The practical examples will include quantum quenches in cold atom systems. We will discuss some recent and ongoing theoretical work on thermalization in post-quench time evolution in 1+1 dimensional conformal systems. We will discuss close and quantitative relation of this subject with the physics of black holes. |
