Description
Computations of scattering amplitudes are important to compare theoretical predictions with experiments. However, in general, computation of scattering amplitudes is an arduous task. In this talk, I will discuss the recursion relations that enable computations of arbitrary on-shell scattering amplitudes in terms of lower-point on-shell scattering amplitudes in certain field theories, aka BCFW relations. I will discuss such recursion relations in a class of theories in 3-dimensions: Chern-Simons theories coupled to matter. We will also see how recursion relations in a supersymmetric theory implies the existence of recursion relations in a non-supersymmetric theory, where a priori such relations are not expected. The existence of such recursion relations often sheds light on some hidden symmetries. I will also discuss some implications of recursion relations of hidden symmetries of the 3-dimensional theory.
