Homi Bhabha’s dreams for TIFR and India

Bhabha, came for a holiday to India in 1939 during World War II, after a Ph.D. in Cambridge University, and while doing promising research in particle physics in Cavendish Lab. He did not go back, but joined Indian Institute of science in Bangalore. In 1945, Bhabha started TIFR. He then started acting on his dreams namely - Fundamental Research, role and spread of Research and Authentic culture  in India as well as on reaping the benefits for national Renaissance. We will explore his ideas and actions, how they influenced many humble self-actualisers to achieve near miracles in technology to modernise India.

About the Speaker:
Dr. G.T.Murthy pursued with colleagues, fundamental research into high energy particle interactions, astronomy and astrophysics, from TIFR, AS&E and MIT, for 16 years, 1957 to 1973. He participated in world class product and technology development, in semiconductor integrated circuits,  microwave radars, rocket control electronics for ISRO and DRDO, radar-computer rainfall measurement and flood forecasting systems for MET dept. Digital Telephone Exchange parts and test systems for CDOT, from TIFR, Semiconductor Complex CGL & SAMEER, between 1974 & 1998. He taught modern topics of management, executed with students reengineering projects.
