Description
At the heart of the CMS detector is the silicon tracking system comprising of the silicon pixel detector, which is surrounded by the silicon strip tracker. The strip tracker consists of more than 15,000 sensor modules that together contain more than 9 million silicon strips that are read out by the tracker data acquisition system when a collision event is deemed interesting by the level-1 trigger system of the CMS detector. In this talk I will give an overview of the online data acquisition system of the silicon strip tracker. An important aspect of the data acquisition process is the calibration of several readout parameters. This will also be described in the talk.
