Description
Proton decay is a signature of baryon and lepton number violations which typically occur in a Grand Unified theory. Failure to see this decay so far has been instrumental in putting strong constraints on supersymmetric grand unified theories, particularly SUSY SU(5). In the light of upcoming experiments at DUNE and Hyper-K, we review the present status of these theories and introduce "flavoured decoupling" which leads to some interesting implications.
