Description
We will describe the search for exotic decays of the Higgs boson H to a pair of light pseudoscalar particles under the hypothesis that one of them decays to a pair of bottom quarks and the other to two photons. Such signatures are predicted in various scenarios of physics beyond the standard model, including the next-tominimal version of supersymmetry. We will present our progress in the study of the VH (V = W/Z boson) channel based on proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity 59.7 fb−1 , recorded by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC in 2018 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. Another topic that will be presented in the talk is the impact of the preshower detector on electron/photon objects identified at the highlevel trigger (HLT). We will discuss how HLT rates and some important electron/photon identification variables depend on the preshower detector.
