The lattice approach is the only ab-initio method to study strongly coupled non-Abelian gauge theories such as QCD. Obtaining high precision results requires running Markov Chain Monte-Carlo simulations on large lattices with small lattice spacings, on large supercomputers. An important challenge is the slowing down of conventional solvers at small lattice spacings. Multigrid methods have shown remarkable success in mitigating this problem. In this talk, I will give an overview of the lattice approach and also discuss our development of novel Multigrid methods for optimizing lattice calculations on Exascale GPU supercomputers. |
