Description
The evolution of the matter distribution in collapsed objects like halos is very sensitive to the underlying nature of dark matter. Modern observations give us large samples to study the matter distributions within halos to very high precision over a wide range of length scales and mass scales. I will discuss how deviations from the cold dark matter, specifically incorporating self-interactions effect the internal profiles of halos and novel signatures. I will also talk about recent developments in observations of halos from cluster to dwarf scales and how they shed light on the structure of dark matter halos and the nature of dark matter.
