Transmission Electron Microscopy: solving problems at Nano Scale

by Dr. Somnath Bhattacharyya (DCMP&MS, TIFR)

Friday, March 16, 2012 from to (Asia/Kolkata)
at Colaba Campus ( AG-66 )
Description
Laws of nature chains every piece of information starting from subatomic to the structure of the whole universe. The soul of science is to find out this logical chain. Following this simple logic one can try to find out the relation between structure and properties of materials at atomic region. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) plays an important role in this regard which probes the material at or below the nanometer length scale. Since deconvolution of original information is the heart of every research so the aim of this seminar is to focus on proper interpretation of whatever is seen at nanometer regime which will be presented using different examples.
