Description |
There is overwhelming evidence for invisible mass in our Universe at almost all astrophysical scales, unexplained by known particles. A new particle, with weak-scale annihilation cross sections to known particles, would naturally explain its observed abundance. This has motivated a comprehensive search for the particle identity of this ``Dark Matter''. In this talk, we review the accumulated evidence for Dark Matter, describe efforts towards identification of its particle nature - especially some new ideas and recent tantalizing hints for Dark Matter, and conclude with an outlook for the future. |
