Description |
A glimpse of lunar occultation study of late type stars in the near infrared using Mount Abu 1.2m telescope will be presented. Lunar occultation technique provides high angular resolution down to milliarcsecond even with 1m class telescope. The uniform disk angular diameter measurement of several late type giants and their importance will be presented. Late type giants loss mass at high rate and finally develop circumstellar shell. The effect of mass-loss/circumstellar shell on uniform disk angular diameter measurement will be elaborated. Also, the study of noise reduction in the lunar occultation light curves using Fourier and wavelet transforms on a sample of 54 light curves will be discussed. |
