Description
Photometric and spectroscopic capability of the newly installed TIFR Near Infrared Spectrometer and Imager Camera (TIRSPEC) has been investigated. As a case study, a dense cluster of high-mass star-forming region (Sh2-138) was chosen for TIRSPEC observations because of the presence of massive star(s), dense young embedded cluster and hot diffused gas cloud around this region. In this talk, I will present detailed near-infrared photometric as well as spectroscopic analyses of the Sh2-138 massive star-forming region using TIRSPEC observations. For completeness, a multi-wavelength view (optical, near-infrared, mid-infrared, sub-mm and Radio) of the region will also be presented in the talk.
