Description
This talk will focus on the use of COMSOL Multiphysics for academic research and education. The talk will begin with an introduction to the software, followed by an in-depth “under the hood” overview of the equation based approach used by COMSOL. We will showcase how COMSOL has been used for fundamental research in the areas of physics, chemistry, and mathematics. We will also discuss the use of COMSOL in cutting edge research. This will be followed by the relevance of COMSOL in education, and how COMSOL can be used to complement both theoretical as well as lab based classes.

The Application Builder, and how it can be used by faculty in both the above mentioned areas will also be discussed. We will conclude with a discussion on possible areas of interaction between COMSOL and TIFR.
