Description |
"One of the defining goals of modern nanotechnology is to manoeuvre artificial nano-systems inside living subjects for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Among several strategies, a particularly promising system is comprised of magnetically driven helical nanoswimmers, which can be manipulated with micron scale precision in fluid-like environments. In this talk, I will discuss some of the open problems that need to be solved before deploying the swimmers for real-world applications; issues that range from surface modification of nanomaterials to fluctuation driven transport of Brownian motors.
