Quantum spin liquids in XXZ Kagome antiferromagnets

Quantum spin-liquids in Kagome antiferromagnets is an old problem that has received much attention. In this talk, I shall discuss a systematic development of a low energy field theory to describe relevant quantum spin liquid phases from the point of view of "gauging" global symmetries. This will reveal an interesting connection between topologically ordered phases and symmetry protected topological phases.
